We normally stay in hotels, but on a few occasions, we have hired an apartment. The main reason is that, while on holiday, neither my wife nor I want to be making beds, washing dishes, or cooking. If I’m honest, I do like staying in an apartment and going to the supermarket to cook local food. As a bit of a foodie, I love cooking, and Spain has some amazing local foods.

Another reason to book an apartment this time was to try some local restaurants and cafes for breakfast and leave a few reviews.

Boutique Benidorm Beach is located on Plaça de la Senyoria, which is basically on the Mirador, near the church or Sherrys Bar. It is a fantastic, modern apartment with the best views and a massive balcony to enjoy them from.

The Basics

Equipped with air conditioning, Boutique Benidorm Beach is a one-bedroom apartment with a double bed. It offers a large terrace and a dressing area featuring a sofa set. The apartment includes a flat-screen TV with satellite channels in English. The bathroom comprises a separate toilet and a shower with both a rainfall head and a normal showerhead, as well as hair dryers and towels.

The property offers an equipped kitchenette with a microwave, a refrigerator, and kitchenware, along with coffee/tea-making machines. Boutique Benidorm Beach is a very modern apartment, equipped to a high standard with everything you will need for a relaxing and enjoyable holiday.

The Negatives

There are a few negatives, but they are minor. The apartment is on the third floor of an old building with no lift, and the stairs are narrow, steep, and in places without handrails. This could be challenging, especially when carrying cases. Check-in is at 5 PM, which is late, and there is nowhere to leave suitcases. However, the letting company was very helpful in recommending a few safe places to leave luggage in Benidorm.

The Positives

Everything else was perfect. The noisiest thing about this place is the sea, and there is a bar below, but we experienced no noise despite being sensitive to it, living in a rural location in the UK.

The apartment was spotless and equipped to a very high standard with everything you might need. I have a preference for certain types of utensils and glasses, but everything here was perfect, even down to the choice of normal British builder tea mugs or continental-style espresso coffee cups.

The balcony is what sold this apartment to us; it is spacious enough for six people and offers the best views imaginable. You can see over the marina toward Alicante, out across the Mediterranean toward Peacock Island, taking in Mal Pas Beach and over to the Mirador and Church. I spent many mornings eating warm pastries and drinking coffee while walking around the balcony.

After quietness, my next two requirements are a comfortable bed and a good shower. The double bed was a good size, and we both slept very well. The showers had ample hot water, and the two heads (rainfall and normal) covered all the bases.

Air conditioning is a must in Benidorm, and the aircon here was very easy to use with a clear screen showing the functions.

The kitchen/living area, excluding the bedroom, has a glass wall/sliding doors to the balcony. There are no blinds, and you are not overlooked, so you have an uninterrupted view while wandering around indoors.

100% will go back again. One last thing: they do ask for a security bond in cash, but depending on how you look when you arrive, they can waive this at their discretion. We found the apartment via Booking.com and if you search ‘Boutique Benidorm Beach’ you should find it, don’t want to make it too easy as I’d like to keep this to myself.

March 2025 Update

This is a hard one to write as one I was ill most of the time we stayed this time, and two, I remember very little about the stay due to being so ill that I spent 4 days in bed.  However, I did take a room tour video and a view, and we did book a sea view room, which was a bonus as we spent so much time in the room.

When we arrived, we bumped into Marta, the Barcleo customer service manager (that’s what I think she is) and went to chat with her. ‘what room are you in?’ she asked, and I’m fairly certain it was 603 ‘ah the best room in the hotel’ and I must say we were not disappointed.  Rooms are fairly standard (a high standard) at Barcelo but this room had double huge French windows and an uninterrupted view of the beach and sea, plus there was a huge balcony with sofas, tables and chairs, which when I wasn’t in bed we made good use off.

That’s it, really enjoy the video
