We arrived early, around 11 a.m., but could not gain access to our apartment until 5 p.m. When staying at hotels, this is not usually a problem, as you can often check in early or leave your bags in the concierge room. However, with an apartment, you don’t typically have this option, so we were faced with either dragging our suitcases around all day in temperatures exceeding 30°C or finding somewhere to store our bags.
Once I started looking, I was quite surprised at how widely available this type of service is in Benidorm. The service we used was called Locker in the City. They have a website and an app and offer suitcase storage locations worldwide. I have no affiliation with them and do not earn any income from recommending them, but I have included a link here as it worked well for me, and you might find it useful. I do intend to leave other links at the bottom, but I cannot personally recommend any others.
The locker we used was close to Plaça Triangular. They don’t disclose the exact location, presumably for security reasons, and I am respecting that here. We wanted something in the Old Town, and this was the closest option we could find. You choose the size of the locker you require and the time period you want it for, and if you are happy with the price, you can book it. We opted for an XL locker, which was perfect for two suitcases and two small backpacks. Interestingly, we found it cheaper to book for 24 hours, which cost around €10–€12.
With the service we used, everything was entirely contactless. They sent me a pin code via message, which granted entry to the location. Once inside, you simply enter the code into a terminal, and the locker door opens. The facility was clean, very secure, and the price included insurance for peace of mind.
We were dropped off outside Montemar, so our first stop was Milords Express for a beer and to use their toilets to get changed. After that, we dropped our bags off and continued to enjoy our day, picking them up later before heading to the apartment. There was no drama, no hassle—everything went very smoothly, just what you need to start your holiday on a good note.
