We are not really ‘cocktail people’ I personally don’t mind the odd Mojito but my wife is a total abstainer but our son and his partner had come to Benidorm to meet us for a long weekend, we called him and in was in NOVA so it’s seemed like a good excuse to finally try the place. Now we are regular visitors to Benidorm Old Town and knew all about Nova’s reputation for providing the perfect blend of modern mixology, warm hospitality, and a vibrant atmosphere. Tucked away in the heart of the Old Town, right next to the iconic church of Saint Jaume, NOVA has quickly earned a reputation as the must-visit cocktail destination for locals and visitors alike.
A Modern Twist on Classic Cocktails
NOVA Cocktail Bar stands out for its creative approach to classic cocktails, offering a menu that balances time-honoured favourites with inventive, modern twists or so we were told as mentioned we’re not cocktail officanados. Whether your taste leans toward a perfectly executed a velvety espresso martini (my choice), or something more adventurous like a white chocolate piña colada(my son’s choice), NOVA’s bartenders consistently deliver drinks that impress both in flavour and presentation. The bar also caters to non-drinkers with expertly crafted mocktails or coffee’s (the wife choice), ensuring everyone can enjoy the experience.

Unbeatable Value: The 2-for-€12 Happy Hour
One of NOVA’s most talked-about features is its generous happy hour deal: from 4pm to 7pm daily, guests can enjoy two of the same cocktail for just €12 and as luck had it we were drinking at happy hour so we had to have two. This offer has been widely praised as an absolute bargain, especially considering the quality of the drinks. Even outside of happy hour, prices remain reasonable, making NOVA an accessible spot for both casual drinks and special occasions, or so the owner tell’s us.

Atmosphere: Trendy, Relaxed, and Welcoming
Step inside NOVA the vibe is relaxed yet lively, making it just as suitable for a laid-back afternoon as for a fun night out. The bar’s location in the picturesque Old Town, beside the church of San Jaime, adds to its charm and makes it easy to find.
Service That Makes You Feel at Home
What truly sets NOVA apart is its exceptional service. The friendliness and attentiveness of the staff, with special mentions for hosts like Alex and Ted, who go out of their way to ensure every guest feels welcome and valued. The team is knowledgeable, engaging, and always ready with recommendations-whether you’re a cocktail connoisseur or a first-time visitor.
Opening Hours (I did have to look these up so they may not be 100%)
NOVA is open daily from 12:00 PM, closing at 1:00 AM most nights and extending to 2:00 AM on Fridays and Saturdays, making it a flexible choice for both daytime relaxation and late-night festivities.
In Summary
NOVA Cocktail Bar has quickly established itself as Benidorm’s go-to spot for expertly crafted cocktails, outstanding service, and a welcoming, modern atmosphere. Whether you’re a cocktail enthusiast or just looking for a great place to unwind in the Old Town, NOVA is a destination you won’t want to miss. Alex was a hoot.

This review maybe a little sketchy as this visit also marked the start of my illness, on leaving NOVA I spent the next four days in bed followed by 5 days in hospital in the UK, not connected in any way with NOVA
