Think of Av. de Martinez Alejos as the beating heart of Benidorm, seamlessly connecting Levante Beach, Benidorm Promenade, and the vibrant Old Town. While some may argue that Walking Street, also known as Paseo de la Carretera, holds the title of the main artery in the Old Town, Av. de Martinez Alejos truly has it all. This bustling avenue is not only a picturesque route but also a hub of activity, lined with charming shops, inviting cafes, and lively bars. As you stroll along its vibrant sidewalks, you’ll feel the pulse of this vibrant coastal town and understand why Av. de Martinez Alejos is a must-visit destination for both locals and tourists alike.

You can easily divide Av. de Martinez Alejos into two distinct sections by the intersection with Carretera del Pal. The lower half of the avenue is filled with charming cafes and delightful food outlets, offering a variety of culinary delights. So each end of Av. de Martinez Alejos is adorned with a charming beachside café. On one side, we have the delightful Nabab, offering a cosy atmosphere and delectable treats for visitors to enjoy. There is a fantastic and incredibly affordable chemist’s shop on this street known as Druni, which I can personally vouch for. Over the years, I have purchased numerous perfumes for my wife from there, and it has always been a more budget-friendly option compared to both the UK prices and even airport duty-free shops. The exceptional value for money that Druni offers is truly remarkable, making it an ideal destination for those seeking quality fragrances at unbeatable prices.

There is a wonderful sports shop called Base located at the intersection of Av. de Martinez Alejos and Calle Gambo It is well-known for its wide range of sporting goods, catering to various sports enthusiasts. While the prices may be comparable to those in the UK, what sets this shop apart is the opportunity to discover some great brands that are not commonly found elsewhere. However, it is worth noting that the availability of certain products can sometimes be unpredictable, as with any store. Nevertheless, if you explore the Old Town area, you might stumble upon other hidden gems for all your sporting needs.

You will also discover numerous shoe shops lining the streets of Benidorm. However, I must admit that I am not particularly fond of the men’s shoe styles commonly found there. Nevertheless, my wife frequently indulges in purchasing shoes from these shops. It seems that she has a different taste when it comes to footwear.

There’s also a fabulous boutique located near the upper area, directly overlooking La Creu. This stylish store offers an extensive range of high-end fashion for both men and women, featuring some renowned designer brands. What sets it apart is that you can find these luxury items at prices comparable to those in the United Kingdom, if not slightly lower. It’s definitely a must-visit destination for fashion enthusiasts seeking quality and affordability.
