I have a confession about apartments. I do not like washing towels on holiday. I am not lazy, but I do like about three showers a day when it is warm, and in most self-catering places that means a damp pile in the bathroom by Tuesday and a chore you did not come to Spain to do.
Emily Suites solved it. You hang a tag on the door, and the cleaners come in, tidy round and change the towels. That one detail is the difference between an apartment and a hotel room with a kitchen, and it is the main reason I would book it again.
Why we booked it
This was our third trip to Benidorm this year, so for once we were hunting a bargain. We are fussy about hotels, and every one we wanted was too dear for late September. Hotel Alameda came close; we like it and the location is good, but the food was the weak point.
Then we found Emily Suites: newly refurbished, with very strong reviews. We did not want the whole stay self-catering, so we booked five nights here and four at the H10 Porto Poniente to finish. Put plainly, the apartment paid for the hotel. Every figure is in the trip post.
Where it is

Emily Suites is at 28 Calle Alicante (Carrer d’Alacant on the street sign), in the Old Town back streets. Booking.com puts the Sant Jaume church a few steps away, the Plaza Mayor about 300 yards off, and Mal Pas, Poniente and Levante beaches all within about 200 yards. You are in the middle of everything, without being on top of the noise.
The catch is the one you would expect: it is a back street, so views are non-existent. If you want to see the sea from your bed, this is not the place. If you want to be in the Old Town itself and pay a good deal less than a seafront hotel, it is.
Getting in
There is no key. Entry is by door code, from a keypad beside the front door. That is not a gimmick. Our flight landed late and we reached Benidorm at about half past two in the morning, and with a code there is no night porter to wake and no key box to hunt for. You simply let yourself in.
The building
It is small: about a dozen rooms over three floors, with a lift. The refurbishment is recent and it shows, from the lobby with its palm-leaf wallpaper and yellow armchair to the rooms themselves. On the top floor there is a launderette and a sun terrace, which is useful if you are staying longer than a weekend.
Booking.com lists three types of room: a double room with balcony, a studio with balcony, and a two-bedroom deluxe apartment on the ground floor. One room, number 13, is adapted, with an open wet-room bathroom instead of a shower tray, which is worth knowing if anyone in your party has trouble with steps or a shower screen.
The room
Well finished and properly equipped, with everything you could want, bar one thing: there is no oven. That sounds petty until you have bought croissants and wanted them warm. We had a small terrace of our own.
What it cost
€114.75 a night for the two of us, room only, booked through Booking.com: €573.75 for five nights, or about £492. That is less than half what the H10 charged us a night on half board, and it is the reason the H10 nights were affordable at all.
What other guests say
We are not alone in liking it. When I checked on 9 October 2026, Booking.com had Emily Suites at 9.7 out of 10 from 280 reviews. Cleanliness, comfort and staff each scored 9.8, value for money 9.6. I looked for it on Trustpilot and found nothing, which for a building this size is no surprise.
The same things come up again and again in the reviews: spotless rooms, friendly staff, some of them singled out by name, and the location. Guests mention the keyless entry as a plus rather than an oddity. One British guest summed it up in fewer words than I have managed: “Amazing Aircon, very clean, easy to enter and exit.”
Worth knowing before you book
- No hen, stag or similar parties, and quiet hours run from 10pm to 10am.
- No smoking anywhere in the building.
- Pets are allowed on request, up to 10kg, for €20 a stay.
- Booking.com lists check-in from 2pm and asks you to tell the property your arrival time in advance.
All of those are the property’s own rules as listed on Booking.com in October 2026.
Would I go back?
Yes. It is self-catering for people who do not really want to self-cater: the space and the price of an apartment, with someone else doing the towels. Paired with a few nights somewhere grander, it is the best way I have found to make a longer Benidorm trip add up.
