What Seven Million Views Taught Us About British Holidaymakers

In one month we published 103 posts to an audience of British people who holiday in Benidorm. Meta measured every one of them. This is what the numbers said, including the parts we would rather they had not.

Sixteen posts out of 103 carried the entire month. Thirty-five of them reached three per cent of the audience between them.

Posting more made it worse. Nineteen posts outreached thirty-three by two and a half times each.

Our own free product flopped. We built readers a discount card that costs nothing and saves real money. Announcing it reached about a twelfth of a normal post.

Seventy-nine per cent of this audience is 45 or over, and five of the top six cities are northern English, Scottish or Northern Irish. London is not among them.

The report sets out the six post shapes that broke 100,000, the four categories that reliably die, the day and hour data, and a page on the limits of all of it. Every figure comes from Meta’s own export. There are no estimates in it and nothing is for sale in it.

Where shall we send it?

Two boxes. The PDF arrives straight away.

This is a separate list from our reader newsletter, and it is for businesses only. We send occasionally, when there is something worth sending. One click to leave, and we do not pass your address to anyone.

Questions, corrections, or your own numbers to compare against ours are all welcome. The address is glyn@benidormoldtown.co.uk.
