Overview

Panrderia Granier operates a franchise business model and currently has three locations in Benidorm. From what I know, one is situated outside the Old Town on Av. del Mediterráneo, and the other two are within the old town itself, specifically on Calle de Tomàs Ortuño and Calle Emilio Ortuño. My personal preference is the one on Calle Emilio Ortuño, right next to a delightful spit-roast chicken shop. The reason I favour this particular location is mainly due to the layout and size of the seating area.

Food and Drink

Now, let’s talk about the food and drinks they offer. When it comes to beverages, I’m quite straightforward – it’s always coffee for me. My wife goes for a cafe con leche (coffee with milk), while I opt for a cafe cortado (a shorter coffee). They offer a wide variety of drinks, and I believe there might be a few alcoholic options available as well. However, the language barrier with the staff, who don’t speak the best English, along with my limited Spanish, makes it a bit challenging to explore these options fully.

As for the food, they do serve sandwiches, but our usual choice is to stop by for an afternoon treat. The selection of cakes is truly impressive – our favourite is the plum cake, although they also have delicious apple, chocolate, and cheesecakes. I’ve tried them all, along with their various croissants, some of which are filled with chocolate, custard, or jam. Additionally, they offer a diverse range of freshly baked bread in different shapes, sizes and varieties.

If you happen to pass by in the morning, you’ll likely find the place bustling with locals enjoying bread with tomato or indulging in sweet pastries like ensaimadas or fartons.

Cafe

The café itself maintains a high standard of cleanliness, which I find to be a common trait in Spanish establishments. The staff are friendly, accommodating, and patient with my attempts at communication through waving and pointing. It’s a bar service setup, so there’s no printed menu, but I usually have a good idea of what I want. Furthermore, the café is air-conditioned and provides restroom facilities for customers.

In conclusion, I encourage you to give Panrderia Granier Benidorm a try – whichever location you choose, you’re bound to have a delightful experience. I do believe we now even have a franchise in the UK.
