Location

Location of Hotel Voramar Avenida de los Almendros, 6, if arriving by shuttle bus you will get dropped outside Hotel Montemar, so head back towards the Old Town and take your second left up the hill a short walk to Hotel Voramar. A taxi will drop you off outside but they have stopped buses from stopping on Avenida de los Almendros I think due to congestion.

Facilities

The standard offerings you’d anticipate are all in place, including ensuite rooms featuring balconies and air conditioning. It’s worth noting that we’ve experienced both standard and superior rooms, and truth be told, there seems to be little disparity between the two. The accommodations might be considered basic, but the real allure lies in the excellent locale, affording easy access to all three beaches, the Old Town, and a variety of delightful dining establishments along the Poniente Promenade.

The staff at Hotel Voramar truly stand out, compensating for any language barriers with their genuine pleasantness and unwavering helpfulness. While their command of English might be limited and our grasp of Spanish lacking, their impeccable service shines through. On-site amenities include a cafe and a buffet-style restaurant offering decent fare. A noteworthy tip: don’t underestimate the House Wine at 4EU per bottle—it’s a treat worth savouring.

Benidorm Hotel Voramar dining room

Perched atop the Hotel Voramar, you’ll find two pools with ample space for sun loungers, sofas, and tables. The dual bars—one operational during the day and the other at night—offer an opportunity to relish the marvellous marina views. The rooftop also houses a compact gym and public restrooms for your convenience. Pro Tip: If you are visiting Benidorm you can use the bar of an evening and savour the great views and escape the hustle and bustle of street level.

Negatives

Now, my primary qualm with Voramar, which I’ve learned to accept, is the street noise, particularly emanating from Vincents Corner Pub. My personal remedy involves ear plugs and indulging in a local brandy, Sabarano (please refrain from pouring the brandy into your ears—that would indeed be a waste!). Quieter rooms are available upon request, albeit without a view. So, you make your choice and allocate your funds accordingly.

Conclusion

It’s worth highlighting the professionalism of the restaurant staff, with hotel management often observed either enjoying meals or ensuring that all aspects meet their standards. The cuisine predominantly boasts Spanish flavours, affording you the chance to sample delightful dishes such as oxtail, chorizo, assorted cheeses, and membrillo (quince jelly). While the food isn’t exceedingly spicy—a characteristic I don’t mind – my wife prefers it piping hot, and the available microwave remedies that situation. Most mornings and evenings there is a chef in situ at breakfast cooking egg dishes and in the evening freshly cooked meat and fish.

cakes on offer at Hotel Voramar Benidorm

All in all, we have been to Hotel Voramar many times and even though we know it’s noisy we wouldn’t hesitate to go back. I would add that were staying in an apartment in July and the Head Waiter for the Voramar walked passed us, recognised us and took time to pass the time of day.

June 2024 Update

I know I do comment negatively about one thing associated with Hotel Voramar and that is the noise from Vincents pub but that is the only negative about this hotel and it remains one of our favourites to visit in the Old Town.  With that in mind we made the decision to book Hotel Voramar June 2024 Update for my birthday get away 30 May – 8 June 2024, so expecting a bit of noise we packed the ear plugs.

We arrived at Voramar, been here many times before but not recently and little has changed on firstsight.  My wife had called from the UK asking that we have a room as far away from Vincents as possible and once again Voramar pulled it out the bag.  Our room was ready when we arrived which was a bonus so quick change and out for some refreshments, it was great that the Restaurant Manager saw us and came out to welcome us back to Voramar quickly followed by the Head Waiter who we regularly see around Benidorm when we are not stayin at the Voramar and he always speaks.

I will say we had a room on the 5th floor and there was no view but there was zero noise, I think some of that was due to the balcony that was set back.  Weird this but the balcony was set back about 4 foot from the edge of the building which does restrict your view of the street but does seem to cut out all noise.  Anyway Voramar rooms are basic but very clean and well kept with everything you need from fridge to aircon, since our last visit they have added liquid soap and bodywash.

We were half board and I think they have cut down the selection a little but really upped the quality of the food and whist my wife who is  a picky eater did moan a  bit (she is female so what would you expect?) I had some very nice meals poached salmon, huge prawns off the plancha and duck.  The wine list at Voramar it also very competitive with a House wine in white, red or rose at only 5e, however I dont think I would buy the House Wine again as it was a little thin on taste, I may not be a wine connoisseur but i do know what I like.

On this visit the rooftop bar was officially opening for summer and had a jazz band planned for the evening, we did visit briefly mainly due to the signers voice going straight through me, but it did mark the start of summer and the roof top bar is now open most evenings 7pm until midnight until 30 Sept.
